Laser Cure for Bad Breath

Those who suffer from bad breath may not even know what the source of their bad breath is.  Not all bad breath is the cause of poor dental hygiene.  In many cases, it is a medical issue or a problem with a part of the mouth or throat that can not brushed or kept clean.  This is not the fault of the person with the bad breath; it is simply the luck of the draw that they have an issue.  This can be very detrimental to those who suffer from halitosis.  They try everything to keep their breath fresh and it is all pointless as there is nothing that can be done when the halitosis is not in the mouth but in the back of the throat.  So they must keep themselves at a distance from other people so they do not get too close to anyone.

The main reason for this type of halitosis is the tonsils.  There is a condition that is called fetid tonsils and this is what causes a heavy odor to come from the mouth.  When the tonsils are fetid, they express a discharge that smells very badly.  All the good dental hygiene that one has is not going to matter at all as the tonsils are the cause of the smell, not the mouth.  When the tonsils are in this state, there are openings that can attract even more bacteria which are going to produce more discharge which is going to cause even more bad breath.

So what is a person to do who suffers from this type of problem and who may not even know it?  The first thing to do is to speak to your dentist.  If you have been taking care of your mouth and get regular cleanings as well as brushing and flossing, and you still have bad breath, you may need to see if another issue such as fetid tonsils that may be the cause of it.  Only your dentist is going to know for sure if this is an issue.  You may also want to speak to your doctor if the tonsils are not the issue as there may be a sinus problem which can also lead to bad breath.  So what is one to do when it is the tonsils that are the issue and not the hygiene of the halitosis sufferer?

There is a laser treatment that has been proven to work at getting rid of this type of halitosis.  The studies show that only six percent of those who suffer from bad breath actually have this problem but it is still worth checking out.  The laser is going to seal up the openings in the tonsils that are expressing this discharge.  When the laser treatment heals, the scar tissue is going to block the holes and then the bacteria can not invade it again.  Most people are only going to need to have one laser treatment to get rid of their bad breath.  Others may need up to three treatments depending on the severity of the damage done to the tonsils.  All of those who have undergone this treatment have noticed the lack of bad breath after completing the treatment program.
